SpotCheck documentation

SpotCheck runs read-only audits of public websites and authorised HubSpot portals. The audit report separates deterministic findings from optional, non-scored advice.

Run a website audit

  1. Enter the public website address and sign in.
  2. Confirm that you have authority to request the audit.
  3. Start the audit and keep the progress page open or return later.
  4. Review the evidence, findings and any unavailable checks in the completed report.

Set up SpotCheck for a HubSpot portal

SpotCheck reviews observable portal configuration and produces an evidence-backed audit report. It does not synchronise, create, update or delete customer-portal records.

  1. Open SpotCheck, sign in and choose the HubSpot portal audit.
  2. Confirm your authority and the disclosed processing instruction.
  3. Select the HubSpot account you are authorised to connect.
  4. Review the permissions shown by HubSpot, then connect the app.
  5. Return to SpotCheck and start the audit for the connected portal.

You need permission to install a connected app. HubSpot may ask an administrator to approve the request. Scope availability can vary by subscription and by the authorising user's permissions. Missing evidence is unavailable rather than treated as a failure.

Configure and use the connection

No field mapping or synchronisation schedule is required. From the dashboard, choose the connected portal, review the authority wording for the audit and start it. You can leave the progress page and return later. The completed report explains its methodology, evidence coverage, passed checks, findings and prioritised actions.

Disconnect SpotCheck

To stop SpotCheck using the stored connection, contact SpotCheck support and request a local portal disconnection. Local disconnection removes portal access, destroys usable stored connection credentials and prevents future audits until an authorised user reconnects the portal. Completed reports are retained until a separate deletion request applies.

Uninstall SpotCheck from HubSpot

  1. In HubSpot, open Settings, then Integrations and Connected Apps.
  2. Find SpotCheck by SpotDev, open Actions and choose Uninstall.
  3. Review HubSpot's confirmation and complete the uninstall.

Uninstalling revokes future HubSpot access. It does not delete completed SpotCheck reports or the source records in HubSpot, and SpotCheck never writes audit changes to those records.
